The NewCold Guelph Sustainability Campus will enhance Guelph's natural heritage system of trees and improve quality of life by connecting the community through a network of greenspaces.

Over 22,000 plantings to enhance and add to Guelph's natural heritage lands.

Approximately 110 acres of created or enhanced greenspace to create greenspace adjacent to the South End Community Centre.

Sustainability At Its Core

Energy Efficiency

NewCold facilities are about 50% more energy efficient than traditional warehouses. NewCold is a global leader in sustainable warehouse operations and is committed to reach net zero by 2040.

Automated Systems

The systems to move the pallets only run when necessary to ensure minimal door openings for pallets entering and leaving the cold storage. This also reduces employee handling, reducing opportunities for damage and increasing food safety.

Creating an Enhanced Natural Heritage

Over 22,000 plantings which will contribute to the existing and new greenspaces around the site.

Sustainable Transit

Over 30 EV vehicle charging station, 30 long-term bike storage facilities and public transport connections completed as part of Phase 1.

NewCold will support Guelph's initiatives in creating a low carbon economy, and will seek to collaborate with a regional supplier of renewable energy.
